Stella (portrayed by Liz Lauren), Sonny’s wife, is an outsider in a world of Italian-Americans.
She grew up in an orphanage in Pennsylvania with one sister. In search of a better life, she came to New York as a young woman to live on her own during the depths of the Great Depression.
With jobs scarce, she became a dime-a-dance girl, dancing with men for 10 cents in dance clubs of that era including the famous Roseland in Manhattan where she met Sonny.
The family looks down on her because of that and has never fully accepted her as a sister. But she has other plans. Come find out what those are and where they lead in New Year’s Eve At Grandma’s House, with shows Nov. 3-18, Saturday evenings at 7, Sundays at 3. Simply click here for tickets.
