Dave’s Italian Kitchen, which has evolved into Dave’s New Kitchen, was the first sponsor for the first show the 2nd Act Players ever did in 2013. And he’s back with us again this year for New Year’s Eve at Grandma’s House Nov. 3-18.
In fact, we just recently had Dave’s pizza to help us celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of someone who inspired one of the characters in our fall play.
I’ve personally been a fan of his cooking since 1976 when I first came to Evanston for grad school. I’ve eaten in each of the four locations he’s had in Evanston over the years.
But in all that time, I never knew he was not only a master chef, he also plays guitar! He recently asked me to spotlight some of his songs, which you can find on Spotify, iTunes and other music sites and services.
He sent me two of his covers to spotlight (shown here), go to one of the music sites/services and give him a listen, he tells me there are lots more of his songs too.
We’ll have to see if we can get him to play at the restaurant some night soon!
