It’s My Brooklyn, Too! follows the Smaldone family as it wrestles with becoming American without losing its Italian roots. At the core of the family are Momma and Del, her oldest daughter, played by Loretta Toscano and Elizabeth Spagnuolo.

Loretta Toscano (Momma)
- What would you say is your character’s most endearing trait? What’s her most obnoxious trait?
Mamma’s most endearing trait is her love of family above all else. Mamma’s most obnoxious trait, if I must call it that, is that she assumes she will always get her way.
2. Will people leave loving or hating her/him?
People will leave loving Mamma because I love and respect her. Her upbringing was different. She stands firm in her beliefs but that love of family will carry her through her most difficult challenges.
3. What are you drawing on in your personal life to help master this role?
To play this role, since mastering it is infinitely impossible, I will draw from what I have come to know as a mature woman and what I have experienced in my past with my origin family, as well as my extended family. Many circumstances are similar, with my Nonna as a guide and my Mom always close.
Elizabeth Spagnuolo (Del)
- What would you say is your character’s most endearing trait?
Del’s most endearing trait is how fiercely she protects her family, especially her brother and godson.
2) What about her most obnoxious trait?
Del’s most obnoxious trait is how uptight she can seem at times.
3) Will people leave loving or hating her/him?
I think people will leave loving Del and the whole family!
4) What are you drawing on in your personal life to help master this role?
I am drawing on two things from my personal life to embody the character of Del; my Italian/Irish-American heritage and my life-long role of being the eldest to some crazy brothers and cousins!
