2nd Act Players head for NYC, ahead of approaching major winter storm

The 2nd Act Players are on their way to New York City for their Jan. 25-26 production of The Institute a little earlier than planned because of a major snow storm rapidly approaching their home base in the Chicago area.

“We’re small which also makes us nimble. Our first rehearsal for our New York production is scheduled for Sunday and we didn’t want to miss that because of snow,” says 2nd Act Co-founder John N. Frank. “Luckily we were able to get an earlier flight, pack all our equipment and be ready to go.”

The 2nd Act Players will be working with an experienced cast of actors to bring two staged readings of The Institute to the stage at the place that inspired the play, Xavier High School in Manhattan. Xavier Theatre and Film is coproducing the readings with the 2nd Act Players.

Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m., Jan. 25 and Jan. 26 at Xavier, 30 W. 16th Street in Manhattan. Admission is free. Show posters are available for $40 donations.
