Enter the 2nd Act Players’ 2017 Short-Script competition today!

Becca Russo, Julie Mitre and Christine O'Keef star in The Last Days of Wonder.

The 2nd Act Players invites aspiring playwrights to enter its 2017 short-script competition. Six winning scripts will receive staged readings by the 2nd Act Players in September.

“We had such a great response to our script contest last year, we had to do it again, but in a bigger way” says 2nd Act Founder and Artistic Director John N. Frank, himself a playwright.

Entries should touch on 2nd acts in people’s lives — key turning points or moments of decision or crisis that impact characters’ lives. They also should lend themselves to audience discussions after performances, a hallmark of 2nd Act Player shows to date.

Scripts should be 6-20 pages and cast size is limited to six or less. Read the other rules on our contest page and enter today, by clicking this link. Six winners will be selected and receive staged readings for two evenings by the 2nd Act Players this September. The entry deadline is June 30.
