Boys in the Basement and divorce — a look at the wreckage

Boys in the Basement looks at the heartbreak and wreckage that divorce brings. Men suffer through it as do women, but men seldom speak about their pain. This show will give you insights into how men cope, often badly, with the aftermath of divorce.

We’ll be looking at divorce statistics all this week in the form of infographics we’ve found on the web about it.

Today’s inforgraphic look at top-line numbers. Roughly 50% of marriages end in divorce in the Untied States. I’ve heard that number is going down, let’s hope so. As you read these, remember, there are people behind all these numbers.

To see the toll divorce takes on the people involved, come see Boys in the Basement.

Performances will take place at the Noyes Cultural Arts Building (adjacent to the Noyes purple Line stop in Evanston) Friday and Saturday, Nov. 6, 7, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 8, at 3 p.m. Performances also will take place the same times the following weekend, Nov. 13-15.
