Meet the characters: Faye & Sal

Faye and Sal are near and dear to playwright John N. Frank’s heart since they’re based on his own parents (with stories from some aunts and uncles thrown in).

Faye is a hopeless romantic while Sal is the more practical, down-to-earth member of the couple. As It’s My Brooklyn, Too! progresses, they will face more than one crisis.

Pasquale (he goes by one name) and Giacoma Bonello (also the play’s director) play Sal and Faye. Read what they have to say about their characters here, then click here to buy your tickets for our shows the first two weekends in December.

Faye (Giacoma Bonello)

  1. What would you say is your character’s most endearing trait?

That she loves hearing and telling the same stories over and over again. And how much she loves her son and Sal, her husband.

2. What about his/her most obnoxious trait?
 Her superstitiousness

3. Will people leave loving or hating her/him?
I think people will love Faye!

4. What are you drawing on in your personal life to help master this role?
Faye is pretty similar to the women I grew up with, particularly my own mother. My mom loves telling stories and embellishing them for dramatic effect. So I’ll be thinking a lot about her manner of speaking and delivery.

Sal (Pasquale)

  1. What would you say is your character’s most endearing trait

Honesty

2. What about his/her most obnoxious trait?

Honesty

3. Will people leave loving or hating her/him?

I hope they’ll understand more about themselves.

4. What are you drawing on in your personal life to help master this role?

My Italian roots.
