1. How and why did you get into acting?
I started out acting in the church and community theater of my small town in western Kentucky. I began acting because it was a big event, sometimes the only big thing happening in the area. All the folks would come and cheer just as if it were a Broadway show. That really meant something.
2. If you could play any character in any play or movie , who would you pick and why?
Butch Honeywell in ‘Last Days of Judas Escariot’ by Stephen Adly Guirgis. I once saw it fantastically portrayed by a genius actor, Jeffrey Brabant (also in our cast), and was so moved by the performance. It is an incredible play and for me, the character brought the play to my doorstep.
3. What was your most recent acting role before this play and what did you learn about yourself doing it?
Officer Harvey in Dick Wolf’s series ‘FBI: Most Wanted’. I learned about extending one’s capacity for vulnerability within unbridled rage. There is always another side to someone’s anger, a deep hurt within that fuels the fire.
