Auditions will be held Saturday, Feb.22 for the 2nd Act Players’ spring production, the 60 is the new 40 short-play festival, featuring winning scripts from our annual new script competition.
The winning scripts, which will be announced shortly, celebrate the ways those 60 and older today are redefining what it means to be a senior citizen.
We will be auditioning for seven actors, each of whom will play multiple roles in from two to four of the nine short plays we have selected to present
Versatility and a comic flair are essential. Please come prepared with a 1-minute comic monologue. Sides also will be provided for cold reads.
Rehearsals will being Monday, March 16 and run Monday through Wednesday evenings, 7-9 or 7-10, through April 27; rehearsals and tech will run Monday through Friday the final week from April 27 through May 1. Opening night is May 2.
Performances will take place on Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons May 2,3, May 9, 10 and May 23, 24. As of now, there will be no shows May 16, 17 but that is subject to change.
We need:
Four woman who can play 60+-year-old characters
One man who can play 60+-age characters
One man who can play 20-30-year-old characters
One woman who can play 40+-year-old characters
