2nd Act Players cofounders John Frank and Carolyn Calzavara will be special guests Saturday, July 25 on Flabby Hoffman’s Radio Extravagonzo on 1680am at http://que4.org.
The pair will tell the inspirational story of how John’s near fatal heart problems led him to seek out his life’s second act and so turn to his twin passions of acting and playwrighting. They’ll also detail how Carolyn vowed to produce John’s first play, New Year’s Eve at Grandma’s House, only months after John’s life-or-death heart surgery.
Also expect to hear previews of the 2nd Act Players inaugural season which will see it stage Frank’s latest play, Boys in the Basement, Nov. 6-8 and Nov. 13-15 at the Piven Theatre in Evanston.
The 2nd Act Players also will present an ArLynn Lieber-Marion Scully production of Lieber’s original play Remembrance, Jan. 29-31, 2016, also at the Piven. Frank will be talking about this poignant production about keeping alive the memories of those we’ve lost.
