AUDITION SIGN-UP — WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT ONE-ACT FESTIVAL

 

 

Auditions Saturday, March 16 with callbacks, if needed, Saturday, March 23, for the 2nd Act Players spring Women’s Empowerment One-Act Play Festival

The 2nd Act Players will be holding auditions Saturday, March 16, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at its theater at Northminster Church, 2515 Central Park Ave., Evanston. Callbacks, if needed, March 23. Send resume, headshot to receive audition time slot.

Seeking to fill nine roles in two one-act plays that deal with issues of women’s empowerment. Three actors will be cast for roles in each play and receive the larger stipend.

Performances will be the three weekends in May, including Memorial Day Weekend, May 11-12, May 18-19, May 25-26.  Saturday shows at 7:30 p.m., Sunday shows at 3 p.m. Actors are called one hour before curtain.

Rehearsals will begin Monday, April 1. Subsequent rehearsals will be every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday from 7-10 p.m. with tech on Thursday, May 10 and final dress rehearsal on Friday, May 11.

Please only apply if these dates are free for you (we will work around any needs to take off for religious holidays for individual actors) and also only apply if you have your own transportation to Evanston. Public transportation is not a reliable option to reach our theater.

Roles:

Female role, mid to late-30s

2 Female roles, 20s (one of these actors will have roles in both plays)

Female role, 40s-50s (possible roles in both plays)

Female role, 50s+ (possible roles in both plays)

Male role, mid to late-30s/40s (will play roles in each play)
