Boys in the Basement is the 2nd Act Players’ November, 2015 production. The play deals with an apartment house populated by divorced men struggling to find their way after losing their families and the dreams they had for them. Performances will take place the weekends of Nov. 7-8 and Nov. 14-15, so save the dates now.
Many plays over the years have looked at divorce from the female perspective, but the feelings of men in divorce are overlooked, usually because they don’t discuss their feelings.
The men in Boys in the Basement will deal with their feelings, some through the usual macho braggadocio, some with flippant remarks and some with painful realization that the world they thought they had built for themselves is gone.
Our show poster is in the works now, here’s a first look. It symbolizes the loss and the decedent into a void that divorce can be.
