A 2nd Act Players spotlight on — Brendan Butkus

Brendan Butkus played one fo the most emotionally distraught characters ever featured in a

work when he was The Rookie in our 2015 production of Boys in the Basement. The Rookie attempts suicide as Act One is ending but has a much different Act Two.

Today,  “I am working on devising a one man show – which will be stand-up comedy/storytelling about my journey from addiction to recovery. Also, putting in some time and thought towards my yoga teacher practice,” writes Brendan.

I’d say break a leg but that doesn’t quite fit with the yoga practice, so namaste Brendan!

Since its beginnings in 2013, the 2nd Act Players (which wasn’t officially called that until 2014) has seen more than 40 actors perform in the seven plays it either produced or co-produced. In this, our fifth year, we thought it would be fun to see what those actors have been up to lately, so we reached out and heard from several.

We’ll keep posting these throughout the year as we hear from more. And we thank them for all their hard work with us.
